ENTREPRENEURSHIP Concentration

Innovation
Creativity
Entrepreneurship

The Entrepreneurship Concentration gives business students the opportunity for detailed study in the rapidly growing field of business formation and innovation. The Concentration consists of a two-course core plus elective courses from a prescribed list, for a total of 18 credit hours. The overall goal of the Concentration is to provide an “insider’s” understanding of the entrepreneurial process. Whether their ventures are for profit or not, and irrespective of the size of the business, successful entrepreneurs must communicate effectively, must employ quantitative methods to solve the problems that provide business opportunities, evaluate a wide variety of information before proceeding, and use agility and the ability to manage change as sources of competitive advantage. Graduates with an Entrepreneurship Concentration may go on to create their own commercial or social ventures. They may also become extremely valuable associates in forward-thinking companies which recognize that sustained success in a global marketplace requires the pursuit of new opportunities and the careful management of innovation.
